Extended deadline for VAT refund application falling due on March 31, 2021; suspension of 90-day processing period

This Tax Alert is issued to inform all concerned taxpayers on the extended deadline for filing of application and suspension of the 90-day processing period for value-added tax (VAT) refund applications.
The VAT Credit Audit Division (VCAD) is temporarily closed until March 28, 2021 in compliance with the existing health protocols for the mitigation of the pandemic.
Hence, the deadline for VAT refund application that falls due on March 31, 2021 is extended until April 12, 2021. Further, the 90-day processing period for claims pending in the VCAD is also suspended during VCAD’s temporary closure.
