eFPS filers allowed to file and pay manually or through eBIRForms due to current unavailability of EFPS; out-of-district payment also allowed

This Tax Alert is issued to inform all concerned taxpayers on the workaround procedures on the filing and payment of tax returns due to the unavailability of the Bureau’s electronic Filing and Payment System (eFPS) facility from 5:00PM, May 12, 2022 until 6:00AM, May 17, 2022.

Pursuant to the Advisory dated May 11, 2022, eFPS taxpayers may manually file returns which deadline falls on the abovementioned dates and pay the corresponding taxes due thereon thru the nearest Authorized Agents Banks (AABs) and Revenue Collection Officers (RCOs) without penalties for wrong venue of payment.

For payment thru RCOs, concerned eFPS taxpayers may pay in cash and check regardless of the amount provided that the check, shall be made payable to Bureau of lnternal Revenue, with or without “lFO Name and TIN of the taxpayer” written on the check, as previously required; and that the name and branch of the receiving AAB need not be indicated therein.

Pursuant to Bank Bulletin No. 2022-14, manual payment may be done through Authorized Agent Banks (AABs), notwithstanding the Revenue District Office (RDO) jurisdiction, for the period from May 13, 2022 to May 16, 2022.

Taxpayers who filed through eBIRForms System may also pay through the following online payment facilities:

  1. Landbank of the Philippines (BP) Linkbiz Portal, for taxpayers who have ATM account with LBP and/or holders of Bancnet ATM/ Debit Card and taxpayers utilizing PCHC PayGate or PesoNet facility (depositors of RCBC, Robinsons Bank, Union Bank, BPI and PSBank)
  2. DBP Tax Online, for holders of VISA/ Master Credit Card and/or Bancnet ATM/ Debit Card
  3. Unionbank of the Philippines online portal, for taxpayers who have account with UBP
  4. Instapay using UPAY facility for individual non-account holder of UBP
  5. GCash/ PayMaya, and MyEG Mobile Payment
